Indigenous Languages of North America
Dienstag, 02.12.2025
This class is given in English. The Indigenous Languages of North America represent a wealth of typological diversity, defying all attempts at generalisation over the continent. This course will first contextualise this rich complexity by providing a introduction to the pre- and post-contact periods and the circumstances leading to the massive language loss seen today. Following lectures will then proceed by focusing on individual language areas or families one by one.
